The Struggle with Prayer
Have you felt disconnected from God? Do you have difficulty with your prayer life?
Sometimes I don’t have any words because my heart is so overwhelmed. And I wonder, is God hearing me?
I just don’t know what to say or how to say it. Then I feel disconnected because I don’t know what to say in my prayers.
Sound’s frustrating, doesn’t it?
Fortunately, God doesn’t judge us for not knowing what to pray. He will meet us as we are.
What is Your Best Way to Connect?
The good news is, we find personal intimacy with God by praying the way we connect with Him best.
What prayer tool helps you connect with God best?
For me, it is writing to God. I feel closest to God when I write my prayers.
I keep a Bible Journal for my daily prayers and conversations with God.
Lessons Learned About Praying
What have you learned about praying and connecting with God? Are there any specific lessons that stand out for you?
On my spiritual journey to maintain my conscious contact and intimacy with God, there are 5 remarkable lessons I’ve learned.
- I get to talk to God anytime I want, He is always near and waiting to receive me with open arms.
- God wants to hear from me! (He wants to hear from you!)
- Prayers don’t have to be perfect, they can be messy, as long as they are honest, passionate, and heartfelt.
- I can write my prayers to keep track of growth in my faith.
- Prayer is an ongoing and intimate conversation with God.
If you have difficulty praying, just know, you aren’t alone. I think everyone struggles to pray at one time or another. The important thing to remember is that God loves you no matter what and awareness is the first step to connecting with God. Just tell Him how you feel and He will listen and receive you.
